Rivals.com recently released its top 300 recruits for the class of 2026. Many notable Ohio State commits made the list, some of whom made a big leap in rankings. The Buckeyes now hold commitments from 3 players at the top of their position group.
Mater Dei Monarchs wide receiver Chris Henry Jr is now the No. 1-ranked player at his position in the nation. The 5-star recruit saw a drop in his ranking after sustaining a knee injury, which kept him out for the majority of his junior season. Henry Jr. caught 24 passes for 588 yards and 5 touchdowns in 2025. Henry Jr has been committed to Ohio State for over two years.
Junipero Serra defensive lineman Khary Wilder is now the No. 1 defensive lineman and the No. 11-ranked overall recruit in the 2026 class. Wilder is a force on the defensive line, converting 77 tackles and 10 sacks this season. Wilder has been committed to the Buckeyes since June 10th.
Recent Ohio State commit Jay Timmons is now the No. 1-ranked cornerback and the No. 12-ranked overall recruit in the class of 2026. The Pennsylvania native announced his commitment to Florida State in June before flipping to Ohio State earlier this month. Timmons, the son of former NFL star Lawrence Timmons, attends Pine-Richland High School, where he finished last year with 42 tackles, 10 PBU’s, 4 interceptions, and three forced fumbles. In addition to football, Timmons excels in track, running a 10.9-second 100-meter dash.
With the 6th-ranked class in the nation, the Buckeyes’ late push has proved successful in keeping the top talent right where they belong in Columbus, Ohio. Ryan Day and his staff have caught fire in recent weeks and show no signs of letting up. Elite on-field play is the ultimate recruiting pitch, and the undefeated Buckeyes are taking the college football world over.
